Bedding & Container Plants

Growing Principles
We grow bedding plants on our nursery, with minimal heat. Pest control is with biological agents (predators and not chemicals) and growth retardants are taboo. Devon grown, by staff who care, to produce natural and hardy plants for your safe enjoyment

Pots and containers
For success; broken pots or stones in the bottom, fill with compost, mix in slow release fertilizer granules then add plants. Keep watered and you have a show until autumn
We grow a wonderful range of traditional and unusual patio plants for planting in containers. Our bargain 6 packs, individual 9cm pots for a good start and 13cm for instant appeal are all excellent value and are guaranteed to grow.

Hanging Baskets
Fantastic displays all summer long, the envy of your neighbours. Place a saucer in the bottom on top of the liner or moss, add slow release fertilizer and water release granules. Cram the plants in for instant effect, keep watered and feed on Tomorite for a great display all summer.
Our trailing plants are grown to the same high standard as our patio plants. Packs of 6 trailing fuchsias are excellent value. The choice of colours of trailing petunias is great and there are so many other exciting plants to add. (We will be pleased to plant your hanging basket for you)

Annual Borders
Introduce a great summer display to delight yourself and friends. Fork over the soil add a sprinkling of growmore or chicken manure, rake in and then using a trowel plant the bedding at 6” (150mm)  for small plants and  9” (225mm) for larger plants.
Our pack bedding of french marigolds, ageratum, and begonia semps etc are great for formal bedding and the non stop begonias are really showy. For a taller effect try our pack cosmos.
