Grow your own veg
Garden veg
It’s easy to grow basic vegetables, beans, peas, sweetcorn, lettuce etc and the pleasure in picking and eating the enhanced flavour.
If you haven’t a garden then raised beds or any container will reap rewards.
Veg that can be only grown from seed, mainly roots and peas, can be selected from our seed racks and tilled direct to the soil as it warms in spring ready to crop through the season
Some veg are better raised as plants before planting in the garden. These can be sown on the window sill or greenhouse or selected from our range. Try sweetcorn, runner beans, courgettes, tomatoes, leeks and marrows.
Some packets of veg seed have far more than you could ever grow, so it’s often more economical to buy plants – try all the brassicas (caulis, cabbages, broccolii ), lettuce (lots of varieties) sweetcorn tomatoes, courgettes, melon.
Mr Fothergills and Johnson seeds are on the racks, we use these to grow our own vegetables, introduced this year for something new is Franchi Seeds of Italy, do try something different it’s great fun.
