So essential to get the best from your vegetables and flowers, feed on a weekly basis and be surprised at the results.
Don’t feed - then be disappointed
There are so many and we keep lots – seaweed, growmore, Miracle gro, Tomorite, Phosphrogen, bonemeal, slow release, ericaceous, liquid, slow release, granular and much more

In the long term
Planting long term friends – shrubs, trees and hedging use bone meal this provides immediate establishment and long term nourishment
Pest control
All plants and animals attract their enemies and sometimes it is necessary to control population explosions. We can advise on the suitability of control substances for pest outbreaks, be it whitefly, ants or mice.
We can also arrange biological control of some pests in your greenhouse or tunnel (we use these on our nursery with great success - whitefly is a thing of the past)
Weed Control
The greatest concern in all gardens. A plant in the wrong place – Its a WEED – aHHH!
Bad cases of weed infestation – cover with black polythene for 6 months or spray with biodegradable Roundup or similar takes at least 3 weeks to work but kills roots and all.
Use this when clearing gardens before cultivation or between veg cropping
Once veg is growing, prevention is better than cure. Keep the hoe working between the rows every two weeks (also aerates the soil), hand weed within the row. It really is therapeutic. – A hoe is the answer to a sucessful veg garden
Weeds in the flower border – use a hand fork (and kneeling pad) – it’s amazing the area that can be covered in a relaxing hour. Mulch with bark and next year cover ten times as much in an hour.
Paths and drives – spray Roundup or use Pathclear or similar. Better still, lay a good path; see landscaping button.
Tools
Call a spade a spade, yes, we have a choice to suit you, including Bulldog – the UK manufacturer, stainless steel, border, ladies and ergos......... Plus of course forks, rakes, hoes, cultivators trowels etc. etc etc
Cover Them Up
It’s winter - Oh so cold - bubblewrap for greenhouse insulation, fleece to cover and wrap your delicate favourites. FLEECE – keeps off carrot root fly

Gloves, basket liners, real moss, hose fittings, irrigation, string, wire, soil test kits, rain gauges, oasis, secateurs, canes, sticky tapes, nails, obelisks, plant supports, labels, pots, propagators, trays, raised beds, watering cans and roses............................etc
