Bow is synonymous with ponds – in 1984 it was one of the first water garden centres to open in the West Country. It is in the same ownership, so has a wealth of experience in pond construction, maintenance and fish keeping to pass on and to help you enjoy a successful pond.

 

Pond Fish

Pond fish are carefully sourced to ensure only quality stock is supplied. We are so confident of the quality that our pond fish are covered by a 2 week guarantee. In season we carry extensive stocks of most ornamental fish in various sizes. We do not stock sport fish, again to avoid the possible introduction of disease.

Koi

Koi are one of our passions, we go to great lengths to source quality fish at affordable prices. We hand select our fish at the farms that we visit during February. This year’s fish are sourced from the Middle East, in other years we have selected koi from Japan and China. Our koi are also covered by our 2 week guarantee. We endeavour to stock a range of varieties, depending on supply, and sizes from 3-4” (7.5-10cm) upward

 

Pond Plants

Pond plants are another of our passions. We have grown aquatic plants from 1984 and have built up one of the UK’s largest collections. Our nursery at Bow produces many thousands of marginal plants, if a particular species is not on retail display than a request to staff will normally locate it on the nursery. We grow both ornamental and native plants.

In peak season we have up to 40 varieties of water lilies to choose from. All plants are available pond ready in baskets.

For natural pond planting of native species we can supply in quantity 9cm plants and sometimes bare root plants.

The majority of  pond plants are available from April onwards

Pond Construction  and Filtration

With years of experience we are pleased to advise on the suitability of products, you will find we carry a wide range of pond products, in stock, to suit all sizes and types of projects. From small formal pools to large koi ponds and wildlife refuges. Display ponds are here to give you ideas and to see how equipment works.

Pond liner is available off the roll upto 7m wide, anything larger is not a problem, it just takes a few days.
